White Rock Coffee Will Rock Yo’ Arse
Posted by Cindy on January 10th, 2008

I should be punished severely for all but ignoring one of my favorite old haunts, White Rock Coffee. I’ll put myself in time-out as soon as I’m finished telling you about all the splendid shows coming up….
Tonight, Thursday, January 10th
Dylan Sneed / Greg Pherigo
8 PM – Free
Two excellent singer-songwriters. You won’t be disappointed. In fact, you may feel like sending me a gift tomorrow to thank me for the recommendation.
“Twenty Nine” by Greg Pherigo
Dylan Sneed Live at Club Dada – Recorded by The Fine Line

Friday, January 11th
Sunward / Johnny Citizen aka Daniel Miller
8 PM – Free
If you love dreamy, spacey, gorgeous, melodic pop, the Sunward is your band. If you don’t like ‘em, then you have absolutely horrible taste in music. Johnny Citizen is “Americana influenced indie glam pop. Pale sadsappysucker with Americana soul.” Or as I like to say, just really good sh*t that I could listen to all night.
“Morning After” by Sunward
Saturday, January 12th
Cynthia Bennett
Celtic. Like none other. You’ll love it.
8 PM – Free
Sunday, January 13th
Lovie – Artist in Residence All Month Long!
8 PM – Free
Are you kidding me? Some of the most talented broads around, they is! Hell, don’t just take my word for it, listen to Rich Lopez…”Better than: being inundated with Britney’s latest publicity stunt.”
“Lovie is proving that, as a live act, the members are rocking it. A semi-packed house at Club Dada with people specifically there for Lovie also bodes well for the group, as Lovie builds a following with each gig.”
“And Lovie is the only band in town to kick your ass without you even knowing while blowing a kiss your way at the same time. With a solidified stage presence, the members’ cohesiveness is now like a chick onslaught of rock that charms the ear and bops the head with just heavy enough guitars and Rebecca Dixon’s crème brule-like voice –- crisp on the outside delivery with kid-sister sweet undertones. And the audience was eating it up…” Read it all.

More to come…

OK, sometimes the website doesn’t get updated as it should… Dylan and Greg’s show is now at Opening Bell Coffee tonight, not with us. Go catch them there!
but NO WAY should you miss Friday or Sunday (the very authentic, not-indie-Celtic show will prolly be packed, and are many of you big Irish music fans? I mean, other than the Kildares?)
Friday there’s a caravan heading to Dada after the show to catch the Chem Set. Wanna hop on? Lemme know.
And if you’re an acoustic artist, get in touch with me at music at wrcoffee dot com … booking Spring right now.
