Par One for the Course
Posted by Cindy on August 2nd, 2007

Another thing I’ve been contemplating is taking up golf. TFG is all gung-ho about it as of late, and the man did give me a set of fancy-schmancy clubs a few years back. Another incentive is cuz there’s this joint on a public course or driving range or something golfy called Rolling Oaks Sports Bar & Grill. They put up a big banner publicizing who’s performing each weekend, visible even whilst speeding down (or is it up) 1604.
I thought I heard or read or dreamt that 92.5 The Outlaw hosted Thursday nights, bringing some durn fine talent to the Rolling Oaks stage. Kind of ala KHYI doin’ Love & War. So I took a stroll over to the Rolling Oaks site and found some fantabulous talent a’comin’ my way:

Ruben V? Hell, I remember conversing with that guy way back in the early TexasGigs.com days. I needsta check him out.
More creamy goodness is coming to Rolling Oaks too like Doug Moreland, W.C. Clark, Casey Donahew and loads more.
This joint may become a regular hang…just gotta remember to bring them golfin’ sticks along….

The place sounds awesome! It sounds like you are actually able to have a life now that you arent busy moving and all that. I hope the golf/bar/hangout/venue works out, that could prove to be a real find (I wish Malligan would play L&W)….
See ya later…..

Golf is fun, but frustrating. I’ve been wanting to get out there since watching the Open for approximately 80 million hours a few weeks ago.

Yeah, I’ll most likely use the bar at Rolling Oaks than the driving range. My attention span sucks like a birdie or a par or…sigh…

[...] * I noticed this Silverhorn GC on Bitters while driving to and from multiple dental surgery appointments today. Says it’s open to the public. I’m going to swing by and check out the deal next week, since I’m headed to Dullass for biz and contractor and realtor crap the rest of the week. (I really wish I’d just hired someone to fix the water-heater and burn that place down, as I’m sick of dealing with it. But that’s how people lose money…they just get sick of dealing with it.) But back to the golf — anyone around here want to play some golf? Herself keeps talking about taking it up, but wants me to teach her. I ain’t no teacher. Of anything. And she won’t schedule a one-hour session with a real teacher, or let me schedule a session for with a real teacher. I think it’s just bored talk. [...]
