New Music Night Fond Farewell

Posted by Cindy on April 10th, 2007

Ms. Carlin Stultz
just kinda rose up outta nowhere a while back, and started putting on really superb showcases around DdFW. While she’s gotten some props here and there, I still don’t think she’s really gotten the pat-on-the-back-thank-ya-very-much she so very much deserves.

Afterall, Carlin founded and hosted the Round Table Group, with which she gathered an assortment of folks involved in local art, photography, culture, and of course music, and set about to, not only network, but to discuss and plan and implement ways to make positive changes.

Then there are Carlin’s Hoot Nights, which is “a gathering of musicians who play songs based on an assigned theme.” These shows have been goin’ down at the Double Wide every Thursday night.

Carlin also books exclusively for such greatness as Cartright, Tame…Tame & Quiet and Prayer for Animals.

Finally, and most impressively, Carlin hosted New Music Night every Tuesday night at Club Dada for nearly a year. Having booked many a band and many a show myself, I can assure you, trying to get good bands to perform on a Tuesday night not to mention trying to get Dallas fans to come see ‘em, ain’t no easy feat. In fact, it’s downright near impossible. But Carlin managed to pull off both – and pull ‘em off with great success.

Sadly, and I have no idea what’s up at Camp Callithump, tonight is the last night for Callithump Productions’ New Music Night…at least for now. So I need you kids to don your dancin’ duds and go on over to celebrate Carlin’s hard work, and enjoy a supoib show.

I think I speak for a whole lotta appreciative folks when I say, THANK YOU Carlin! Great job! We love ya kid!
