SXSW – Wrap #1 – The Adventures Of An Old Broad and Her Kid

Posted by Cindy on March 19th, 2007

My precious, darling beautiful girl-child had the time of her life at SXSW. Her number one goal was to see Girl Talk live, which she did, and it was even better than she had hoped. Her other big hurrah was meeting Menomena in person when she ran into them on the street. She also caught one of their sets and loved it as well.

Girl-child and posse were glued to their cell-phones, text-messaging what seems like 24 hours a day. But that’s cool, they were excited and having a blast. This little gang managed to get into the Pitchfork party, back stage with the help of the lead singer (“some really bad band from England who were crazy”), made the cut into some of the hardest to get into shows, all with no badges, no wristbands and just a few bucks in each pocket.

Although we pretty much passed in the night and I didn’t get to spend as much alone time with her as I would have liked, I’m still thrilled that this was, and I quote, “the best Spring Break ever!” Sweet.
