SXSW Day 4 – The Adventures Of An Old Broad and Her Kid – Alela Diane Live at Jovita’s – Twangfest
Posted by Cindy on March 19th, 2007
Ya know how sometimes you can look across a room – or an outdoor patio – and just sense that the person who caught your subconscious attention is someone you like a lot already, not even knowing them yet? That’s the sense I got the first time I laid eyes on Alela Diane on Saturday, March 17th on the outdoor patio at Jovita’s in Austin.
I thought to myself, “Cindy” I said, “Cindy, I think that lovely young lady is someone I’d really like to know.” Then she began to sing. Life-changing I tellsya. Like a freakin’ angel. I give you the lovely, gifted and oh-so-talented Alela Diane…

That’s Matt Bauer on the banjo. Catch him Tuesday at Secret Headquarters playing his own stuff. He’s great.

Noah, I thought I saw you hangin’ with Matt. Thanks for the tip – I need a jaunt to Denton anyway, so I’ll try to check him out!
