Texas gets some nods at this year’s 4th Annual Oklahoma Music Awards…
Payne County Line Promotions, Stillwater, OK. Announces 2007 Oklahoma Music Awards.
The results of the month long voting for the 4th Annual Oklahoma Music Awards sponsored by Payne County Line Promotions were released today in Stillwater, Oklahoma, by Stan Moffat, CEO of Payne County Line Promotions. Payne County Line Promotions is a company that promotes Oklahoma Musicians and Artists to the world via quality web services plus hosting the only Oklahoma Music Awards on an annual basis, all free of charge to the artists and musicians. Since its inception, PCL has had over 100 million hits on its site and now has contacts in most states and over 40 countries around the world.
“In this 4th year of hosting the statewide Oklahoma Music Awards, the voting was very zealous and heavy especially in the last two weeks”, said Stan Moffat, owner of Payne County Line Promotions in Stillwater, OK. Moffat went on to state that the voting volume increased by another 10% this year with the total number of votes nearing 1.8 million votes, from all 50 states and 32 countries around the world. The voting process is unusual in that only one vote per ISP address and that one must download a PDF ballot and actually fill in the name of those the person wishes to vote for and then send the ballot in electronically. “This is not a standard computer vote till your finger hurts vote, but a very good cross section of those who truly love and have knowledge of the music industry in OK and the many excellent artists from this great state”, Moffat went on to say. There are 108 categories and one must receive at least 25 votes to be officially nominated for the award. This year there were almost 1375 which missed this simple mark. There were 801 nominated in the 107 areas, and the list is truly best of the best, the 107 who won their respective areas. Moffat announced that in 2008, the 5th year for the Payne County Line Oklahoma Music Awards, there would be an awards event held to honor the best of the best with the top entertainers performing. He stated, “Many bands and artist have already made their intentions known and want to be ‘on stage’ if they win!”
Moffat closed with the following statement, “It is a very extremely moving experience to work so intimately with our great Oklahoma artists, musicians and supporters. They are truly a unique treasure inside Oklahoma and just as those that preceded them rose to national prominence, there are new acts rising to the top, and will achieve national acclaim during Oklahoma’s 100 year anniversary.”
