Gimme Some Slack
Posted by Cindy on March 8th, 2007
Talk of The Slack coming to fruition started way back before our former Dallas Observer music editor Sarah Hepola left us for the Big Apple. I’ve been waiting rather impatiently for something to happen, and tonight, my wish has come true.
My overwhelming lust for Chris Holt ain’t no secret…in fact…some say it’s legendary. Then when he opens his mouth to sing…well my swoons become all-out faints. The original Slack line-up included Chris Carmichael and Lindsay Graham…if’n I’m ‘memberin’ correctly…but now it goes like this – Chris Holt, Eric Neal, Steven Luthye & Tom Birdwell…quite splendid indeed.
Tonight you have your chance to see what the hell I’m talkin’ about if you’ll just put on something comfortable and head on over to Sons of Hermann.
The Slack will be “playing material from their upcoming album Wishful Sinking (slated for a fall release), as well as material from Summer Reverb – the album that Chris and Tom created and released last year. “Reverb” will be reissued this spring under the Slack name, with a bonus EP containing some b-sides and other recent outtakes.”
Don’t be foolish and miss tonight’s show…

Cindy you really do an amazing job with this site. I’ve learned about so many bands and musicians I might not have ever known about. Keep up the good work!
