It seems like a gazillion years ago that I went to Trees to catch OhNo! live and hang out with my dear friend Rahim Quazi. After the show Rahim introduced me to a delightful young man by the name of Levi Smith who in turn placed a burned demo into my hands. Once in the car, I popped that little gem into the ol’ CD player and drove the entire 30 minutes home in jaw-dropped awe.

Radiant* has remained on my list of top 10 local faves ever since that fated night. I’ve also had the great pleasure of getting to know the guys in Radiant*, so much so that I consider them friends.

The band sort of dropped off the face of the earth the past few months, after being nominated for “Best Act in Town,” “Best Male Vocalist” (Levi), “Best Instrumentalist” (Daniel) at the 2006 Dallas Observer Music Awards. But they’s back baby…they’s back!

The loooooooooooooooooooong awaited new album, We Hope You Win is finally scheduled to drop on November 18th, which coincides with their CD release party at Good Records that same day starting at 5 PM, which of course as always, is a freebie.
