Well hell. At the risk of sounding like one of Amanda’s whiners (see below), man I’d love to get the hell outta Dodge for a few. I guess I’m a tad melancholy cuz Boca is heading south on I-35 this weekend to take the stage as back-up for one our FineLineLive loves, Eastwood in my favorite spot outside of NYC…my beloved Austin. While I, on the other hand, must board a plane (something that scares the crap outta me…literally…there’s crap on my chair as I type) for Boulder, Colorado to visit a college with my girl-child…only for the day, so no getting outta Dallas for more than a few hours. How I love to digress.
Point is – I just noticed that a HUGE love of mine, Pink Nasty is performing tonight at The Parish with Mark Kozelek. Man, I wish I could be there for this show…then stay in Austin for a day or year…sigh…
Damn good thing we’ve got the Johnny Cash Tribute Show tonight at Dada, where Amanda will take the stage too…be there fools…I promise not to whine in my wine…and if you are lucky enough to be in Austin tonight, go go go to the Pink Nasty/Kozelek show.

Do you want me to drive you guys to the airport? Give you drugs? Both? Neither?
I think its so cool that you’re doing this for Ashley. And remember, like I told you, the day I left home, watching my dad sob in the driveway was permanently etched in my mind forever…it wasn’t until that moment that I realized they weren’t glad I was leaving.
That being said, I’ll get started on finishing my time machine, so you can stop missing all the shows you want to see.

Why not reroute your return trip to Austin and hang with all of us?? I’m sure Ashley wouldn’t mind spending a great evening in the live music capital of the world!!
